ever since Instagram was created, i have been an obsessive user. there's just something about those rows and columns of squares i can't get enough of. i spend so much time choosing the perfect photo to go with my feed and the editing style to go along with it. while some may say (and have) that i'm too obsessed with my phone and social media, being a marketing guru says otherwise. according to sproutsocial.com, Instagram is an increasingly important tool in the digital marketing world. as of august 2017, Instagram has 700 million monthly active users and 8 million of them are businesses. as Instagram has grown and changed over the years, i've found that the way i use Instagram is also changing. i used to use the application for following friends and classmates to see what they were up to - but this form of use has now migrated to Facebook. today, i use Instagram to follow entrepreneurs, home decorators, new moms and my favorite brands. that being said, i'm not necessarily using the application to connect socially anymore. however, if businesses take the time to learn their audience, they will be able to use Instagram for marketing in an effective way. in order to reach your target audience, you have to know what your audience is using the app for. with this knowledge, you will be able to increase engagement with users. for example, i love a great photo and i am more inclined to visit a company's website if their photos are telling a story, clean and consistently edited. see a few of my favorite brands to follow! (photo from Pinterest) the jungalow is a brand i recently came across through following similar brands. their ability to bring tropical, bohemian, colorful vibes straight through my phone screen kept me hooked! urban outfitters' entire brand on social media simply kills the game. their strategy is the perfect mix of beautiful photography that encapsulates both products and lifestyle. being a lover of the better homes and gardens monthly magazine, following them on social gives me a constant feed of flowers, home inspo and other creative ideas. so as you can see, i'm sucked into a brand through their imagery. strong imagery can tell a story, market a product, spark an idea - or if you're doing it the right way, all of the above.

if you've navigated your way to my bio, i mentioned that i wanted to bake pies galore. well, so far this year i've baked two and in this post, i'll be documenting one of them. with peach season at it's peak, i couldn't WAIT to get my hands (and taste buds) on some brown's orchards' peaches. i spent this past sunday in the kitchen, gathering recipe inspo from two of the (many) cookbooks i have in my collection. i decided on a pie and some shortbread, and they were equally delish!
HEY!
i want to know all of your favorite peach season recipes -- drop me a comment below! ❤, bradania we got to get away to the cabin quick this weekend, which gave me a chance to immerse myself in nature with my camera. i'm trying to start getting better at actually doing something with the photos i take, so on this trip, i really tried to practice my skills. i tend to be very impatient with photography, but this weekend i forced myself to focus and i'm so happy i did. i'm also very excited recently because i'm getting a little better at editing and finally began achieving the style i've been going for. all that being said, this weekend was great and i'm happy i got to capture the fun!
from my weekly creative searching, i came across a campaign from an agency in cleveland called twist. i've always been a fan of billboards - they make me giggle, roll my eyes, point and there have been a few that have had me pondering their meaning for the duration of my trip. this particular agency created a set of billboards to simply start a conversation. check out what the public thought here.
as marketing changes as technology advances, i believe people are going to expect more - possibly more extravagant and involved, but i don't think it needs to be that way. this campaign featured a simple landscape billboard and a simple word. the results? increased website traffic by 22% and a 50% increase in resumé submissions, that were completely unintended! sometimes thinking outside of the box doesn't need to be as involved as we think - and can bring unexpected results that increase and expand our creative perspective. photo from adweek as downtown york, pa continues to revitalize, locals are making their own efforts to contribute. the york flea is a street fair flea market held in the charming cherry lane. the york flea features handmade and vintage goods - showcasing the creative talent we have right here in south central pa. this past saturday, i had the privilege to cover the event - and grab lots of goodies! keep reading to see what i found!
ever since i began (and completed) college, i've had a passion for marketing. ever since i can remember, i've analyzed billboards, commercials, print and digital ads - literally every kind of advertising i've ever come across. i LOVE marketing. i've been working in a digital marketing and public relations agency for about 8 months now, which has increased my constant analysis of marketing immensely. i usually just annoy my fiancé with my thoughts, so i figured i would post and share them here. campaign: NIKE scouring the internet this week, i came across a new "Just Do It" campaign from Nike. just when i think we've thought of it all, the world shows me that we can push our creative limits further every single day. check out the story from AdWeek showing athletes doing the craziest things to push themselves further. social media: FACEBOOK on the more annoying side of marketing, Facebook will start incorporating advertisements into its messenger app. similar to what we see while scrolling our Instagram and Twitter timelines, companies will be able to "sponsor" ads that will show up in the middle of our feeds. check out the full story from AdWeek here. i personally don't use the messenger app, but i know a lot of people who do. what are your thoughts on this new implementation? if you're a marketing/creative/advertising guru like myself, please share your thoughts and finds with me!
as women, we are constantly bombarded with "beauty" expectations. the media, magazines and stores are subconsciously and directly telling us that we have to look a certain way to be beautiful. this destroys self-confidence, causes constant worry/anxiety and makes us believe we aren't good enough for certain things (outfits, photos, events...you name it - we've all been there).
i love the movement that many women and companies are making to overcome this concept that all women have to look a certain way to be beautiful. but it's still so hard when every other media outlet, etc. is not following suit. as women, we need to encourage each other, love each other and understand that "another woman's beauty is not the absence of our own." we need to celebrate and embrace our differences. we ALL have beauty to contribute to the world. my advice: keep hyping each other up on those Instagram selfies, praise each other when we achieve goals, surround yourself with positive, powerful and inspiring women. together, we can destroy beauty standards and appreciate the diverse beauty we all have. ❤❤❤ (image source: pinterest: the_calliest on Instagram) i've always been a fan of my dad's green thumb - especially in the summer when the wildflowers bring color to the yard. i never realized how much i took these flowers for granted until now. living in town, i miss out on the luxury of planting flowers like crazy (although i try) with a very small backyard. so for now, this pretty little bouquet is residing in the living room. i'm taking a moment to appreciate this little piece of summer! i'm so excited to have my own flower-flowing backyard in the future, ahhhh.
downtown york, pa has come such a long way in its revitalization movement. restaurants, boutiques, art galleries and more are thriving as community members continue to work together to make this place the attraction is deserves to be. last weekend, artists came together to give royal square an incredible collection of murals that stop you in your tracks. (located across the alley from collusion tap works)
this past fourth of july weekend is one i will never forget. my best friend asked me to MARRY him! it was so surprising and beautiful and perfectly planned out, i could not be more excited to begin the rest of my life with my new FIANCÉ!
