as women, we are constantly bombarded with "beauty" expectations. the media, magazines and stores are subconsciously and directly telling us that we have to look a certain way to be beautiful. this destroys self-confidence, causes constant worry/anxiety and makes us believe we aren't good enough for certain things (outfits, photos, events...you name it - we've all been there).
i love the movement that many women and companies are making to overcome this concept that all women have to look a certain way to be beautiful. but it's still so hard when every other media outlet, etc. is not following suit. as women, we need to encourage each other, love each other and understand that "another woman's beauty is not the absence of our own." we need to celebrate and embrace our differences. we ALL have beauty to contribute to the world. my advice: keep hyping each other up on those Instagram selfies, praise each other when we achieve goals, surround yourself with positive, powerful and inspiring women. together, we can destroy beauty standards and appreciate the diverse beauty we all have. ❤❤❤ (image source: pinterest: the_calliest on Instagram)
